Compliance Senior Specialist - Sanctions

Wise is seeking a Compliance Senior Specialist - Sanctions to join our Sanctions Investigations and Reporting team. This team is responsible for reviewing and investigating potential violations of OFAC, E.U., UK, UNSC/UN, and other sanctions programs processed through Wise. Our mission is to ensure compliance with global sanctions regulations while facilitating seamless international transactions for our customers.

In this role, you will investigate and provide final decisions on escalated sanctions cases, utilizing investigative tools and web research to analyze vessel movements, beneficial ownership, and potential sanctions links. You will prepare and review sanction filings, including block and reject reports to regulatory agencies, and provide subject matter expertise on sanctions-related issues, acting as a point of escalation for teams within Wise. Additionally, you will assist in drafting sanctions procedures and facilitate governance over sanctions lists and screening frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in sanctions compliance, with strong knowledge of OFAC, UK, E.U., and UNSC/UN sanctions regulations. You should possess excellent research and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables. Proficiency in Portuguese and English is required, along with high ethical standards and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
