Cloud Reliability & Recovery Engineer

AlphaSense is seeking a Cloud Reliability & Recovery Engineer to enhance our Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities within AWS environments. This role involves collaborating with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure system resilience and rapid recovery from disruptions.

Key responsibilities include designing multi-region AWS architectures to meet Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), implementing failover patterns using AWS services, and developing automated DR runbooks. The role also involves administering AWS Backup across various services, designing immutable backup vaults, and automating data recovery testing procedures.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure or IT disaster recovery engineering, with at least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience in production environments. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation are essential. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and excellent communication skills are also required.
