Gilbert + Tobin, a leading Australian law firm, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their Architecture Strategy & Design Team within the Technology Group. This newly created role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with the Technology Team, Business Transformation team, and various Operations functions. The position is based in Sydney, Australia.

In this role, the Business Analyst will be responsible for documenting system solutions and preparing clear, high-quality functional specifications. They will contribute to the development of user and system test plans, gather and analyze business and functional requirements, and support solution design by collaborating with technical specialists and stakeholders. Additional duties include mapping and analyzing business processes to identify improvement opportunities, producing comprehensive documentation such as project plans and user guides, and acting as a liaison between business units and the technology team to ensure strong communication and alignment on project objectives. The analyst will also assist with test planning, monitor project progress, and stay updated with industry trends to inform recommendations.

Candidates should have at least three years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, with proven experience in gathering requirements and mapping business processes. Strong documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly are essential. Experience in creating and executing test plans from Unit to User Acceptance Testing phases, exposure to complex technology or transformation projects, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are also required. The ideal candidate will be curious, proactive, solutions-focused, and possess strong relationship-building and communication skills.
