Avionics Project Engineer
As an Avionics Project Engineer at Ursa Major, you will oversee the daily planning and execution of avionics tasks performed by Avionics Technicians. This role ensures that resources, materials, and priorities are aligned with program deadlines and production schedules. You will collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to maintain adequate inventory levels, develop achievable schedules, and proactively identify and mitigate execution risks.
Key responsibilities include directing and prioritizing the work of Avionics Technicians, allocating resources across multiple programs, and maintaining task priorities to support production and test schedules. You will dynamically adjust plans as new work arises or priorities shift, identify potential risks related to schedules or resources, and communicate mitigation strategies to leadership. Additionally, you will track work progress, coordinate resolution of execution issues, and report status updates to the Avionics Director.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, or a related technical field, or have equivalent relevant experience. Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is essential. Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills are required, along with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks. The role demands adaptability to changing priorities, strong communication skills, and proficiency with spreadsheets, planning tools, and basic project tracking systems.
Ursa Major offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $79,000 to $98,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
