The Associate General Counsel, Legal Strategy at AbbVie plays a pivotal role in developing and executing comprehensive legal strategies to influence policy and advance the company's objectives. Additionally, the Associate General Counsel will determine the prioritization, timeline, and resource needs for strategic initiatives, ensuring internal alignment and driving cross-functional team execution.
Candidates should possess a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school and be in good standing with the state bar of the jurisdiction where the office is located. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, either in-house or at a law firm, is required. Applicants should have significant industry experience, preferably within a pharmaceutical company or health insurer, with a deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare sector and its laws and regulations. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, leadership, and influence skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex information concisely to senior leaders. Demonstrated success in solving complex problems and managing high-visibility projects with a strategic and collaborative approach is also necessary.
The compensation range for this role is between $177,000 and $336,000 annually, depending on factors such as geographic location and individual qualifications. The position is eligible for participation in AbbVie's short-term incentive programs.
