Wayve Labs is seeking Applied Scientists to join their team in London, United Kingdom. This role involves developing the next generation of AI systems for autonomous driving, working at the intersection of machine learning, simulation, robotics, and real-world deployment. Wayve is a leading developer of Embodied AI technology, focusing on creating intelligent, mapless, and hardware-agnostic AI products designed for automakers.

Key responsibilities include developing world models and planners using diffusion-based, autoregressive, or hybrid approaches for realistic and consistent simulation. The role also involves advancing reinforcement learning and reward modeling to build scalable and safe learning frameworks across real and synthetic data. Additionally, the position requires developing geometric foundation models for 3D spatial understanding in dynamic, real-world environments and enabling cross-embodiment robotics by leveraging multimodal foundation models to accelerate robotic learning on diverse platforms.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience developing and deploying machine learning systems in real-world or production settings. A PhD, Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a related field is required. Deep expertise in one or more core Embodied AI areas, such as foundation models, generative world modeling, reinforcement learning, or spatial AI, is essential. A strong programming background in Python, with experience using frameworks such as PyTorch, is also necessary.

Wayve offers attractive compensation with salary and equity, immersion in a team of world-class researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs, and a unique position to shape the future of autonomy.
