Applied AI Engineer
As an Applied AI Engineer at Bandwidth, you will be a key member of the Corporate IT Engineering team, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence into the company's internal systems and operations. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing existing AI platforms, developing internal API layers, and creating AI-powered tools to improve infrastructure, identity, monitoring, and automation platforms. Your day-to-day tasks will include developing proof-of-concepts for AI applications, containerizing AI workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, and automating infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and Ansible.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with large language model (LLM) platforms, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipeline development and prompt engineering. Expertise in AI infrastructure, model serving, inference optimization, and MLOps pipelines is essential. Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, experience with REST APIs, and a strong background in AWS services are also required. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is necessary.
