Wayve is seeking an exceptional Application Software Engineer to join our Application Engineering organization, focusing on localizing and advancing our autonomous driving technology for the U.S. market. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a hands-on part in shaping our autonomous vehicle capabilities in the United States from the ground up.

In this position, you will be responsible for the bring-up and early validation of our AI software stack on customer hardware platforms, ensuring seamless performance across diverse system-on-chips (SoCs) and operating systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Verification, Release, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners, to ensure smooth integration and reliable delivery.

Key responsibilities include executing software bring-up on customer hardware platforms such as NVIDIA Drive and Qualcomm Ride, porting and configuring Linux-based systems, QNX, and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments, integrating and validating drivers, middleware, and boot-time configurations, and developing automation for setup, flashing, health checks, and test execution on target hardware.

The ideal candidate will have over eight years of experience in embedded or automotive software development, with hands-on platform bring-up experience. Strong proficiency in C/C++, Bash, and Python is essential, along with a deep understanding of Linux-based embedded systems, including Yocto, systemd, bootloaders, and device trees. Familiarity with QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments, experience with automotive-grade SoCs, and comfort working with hardware debuggers and communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, and I2C are also required.

This full-time role is based in Sunnyvale, California, or Detroit, Michigan, with a hybrid working policy that combines time in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships, and learning, along with time spent working from home. We operate core working hours, allowing you to determine the schedule that works best for you and your team.
