06.Engineering Manager (Java Background)
PayPay India is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong Java background to lead our payment product development team. As a rapidly growing fintech company serving over 70 million users since our launch in 2018, we are expanding our operations to India to leverage the country's rich talent pool and continue delivering exceptional payment experiences.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the team's daily tasks, prioritizing them, and making decisions based on evolving business priorities. You will structure and facilitate the team's workflow and development processes, coordinate with internal stakeholders to translate their requirements into technical solutions, and foster the team's growth through regular one-on-one meetings and performance evaluations. Additionally, you will plan for future resource needs and collaborate with hiring efforts to build a strong core team.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on experience in backend development, with at least 2 years in team management. A proven track record in designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable, responsive web or mobile applications is essential. You should possess a technical mindset with an understanding of complex system design, a strong bias towards action, and a solutions-oriented approach. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required; proficiency in English is necessary, and bilingual abilities in English and Japanese are advantageous but not mandatory.
