09.Corporate Legal Counsel
PayPay India is seeking a Corporate Legal Counsel to provide legal support and guidance for business operations, aiming to enable compliant, secure, and efficient operations. This role is integral to establishing strong legal foundations as the company scales, ensuring that contracts, policies, and business activities are legally compliant. The Corporate Legal Counsel will act as a key legal gatekeeper, reducing legal and regulatory risks through proactive review and advisory.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements such as vendor contracts, partnerships, NDAs, and service agreements. The role involves identifying legal risks and providing mitigation strategies, maintaining a contract repository, and ensuring compliance with agreed terms. Additionally, the counsel will support business teams during contract discussions and develop standard operating procedures for legal and compliance processes.
The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of relevant experience in corporate or commercial law, with exposure to compliance and regulatory frameworks. A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) is mandatory, while a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Company Secretary (CS) qualification are preferred but not mandatory. Strong drafting and negotiation skills, a good understanding of corporate and commercial laws, and the ability to interpret statutes and regulations are essential.
