Vice President, Global Logistics and Customs
Xometry is seeking a high-caliber, strategic leader to serve as Vice President, Global Logistics and Customs. As we continue to scale our global marketplace, the complexity of moving parts across borders requires a visionary who can balance lightning-fast delivery with rigorous cost management and 100% regulatory compliance.
You will be the architect of Xometry's future carrier network, ensuring we provide end-to-end visibility for every shipment—from a local machine shop to an international enterprise customer. Your mission is simple but challenging: make our logistics faster, more reliable, and more cost-effective than ever before.
**Responsibilities:**
**Strategic Network Development**
- Future-Proofing the Network: Design and execute a multi-year global logistics roadmap that anticipates Xometry's growth and shifting manufacturing hubs.
- Carrier Management: Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with global, regional, and last-mile carriers to ensure redundant and resilient capacity.
- Optimization: Relentlessly pursue the "least cost to customer" model without compromising on speed or reliability.
**Global Trade & Customs Compliance**
- 100% Compliance: Act as the final authority on global, regional, and local trade regulations, ensuring all cross-border movements adhere to ITA, EAR, OFAC, and international equivalents.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve potential customs bottlenecks, tariff impacts, and trade barriers.
- Audit & Governance: Establish robust internal controls and auditing processes for classifications, duties, and documentation.
**End-to-End Visibility & Analytics**
- Data-Driven Leadership: Implement and oversee global logistics technology stacks to provide real-time visibility into shipment status and landed costs.
- KPI Ownership: Define and report on North Star metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Cost per Shipment, Transit Time, and Compliance accuracy.
- Cost Transparency: Build models that provide the business and our customers with granular visibility into logistics spend.
**Qualifications:**
- 12+ years of progressive leadership in global logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain, ideally within a high-growth marketplace or manufacturing environment.
- Deep functional knowledge of international trade law, HSS/HTS classification, and global customs brokerage management.
- Proven track record of negotiating high-value contracts with major global carriers and 3PLs.
- Comfortable working with Product and Engineering teams to integrate logistics data into a digital marketplace platform.
- A leader who can pivot from a board-room strategy to solving a critical customs delay in a high-stakes moment.
