Trading Strategy Software Engineer
IMC is seeking a Trading Strategy Software Engineer to join our Amsterdam team. This role involves developing and maintaining a variety of applications, systems, and tools, including trading algorithm implementations, options pricing, volatility calculations, simulation frameworks, and data analysis tools for traders. As part of a collaborative environment, you will work closely with traders, researchers, quants, and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact projects that drive our trading decisions.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with traders to understand and optimally implement trading strategies, developing and maintaining applications and algorithms, and continuously improving the functional and operational aspects of strategy systems to enhance user experience and overall performance. You will take ownership of the end-to-end product development process, from requirements gathering to production deployment, ensuring the delivery of high-performance, reliable software through frequent iterations.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer with excellent programming abilities, a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, and strong quantitative and analytical skills. A Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Experience with JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin) or Python is highly desirable. Additionally, prior experience in trading or related industries, advanced math and quantitative skills, and experience with user-facing applications or large-scale data and research pipelines are advantageous.
