Technology Lawyer
Axiom is seeking experienced Technology Lawyers to collaborate with our client, Google, on a long-term engagement based in Toronto, Canada. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Google's dynamic teams, providing legal support throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include advising Research & Development, Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, Advertising Sales, and Communications teams from initial product development stages to launch. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating technology contracts, such as Cloud and SaaS agreements, and supporting business teams in building consensus on projects, including new features, products, services, and programs. Additionally, the position requires reviewing global products, features, and platforms to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies aligned with company goals, and staying updated on relevant industry, data privacy, consumer protection, and advertising laws and regulations to offer thoughtful and relevant advice.
Candidates must have over 5 years of experience at a top law firm and/or in-house department as product, technology, commercial, privacy, or IP counsel. Engineers with a law degree are also encouraged to apply. Experience handling complex projects and being called to the bar in Ontario are required. Preferred qualifications include in-house experience at a large technology company, collaboration with R&D teams and engineers, and holding the title of Product Counsel with experience launching a product.
The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles ranges from $114,000 to $250,000 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
