Technical Writer (Remote in South Africa)
The Technical Writer position at KnowBe4 involves creating and maintaining high-quality articles, tutorial videos, and product UI text to support the company's products, features, and services. This role is integral to the Product Writing team, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Marketing Managers to ensure accurate and user-friendly documentation.
Key responsibilities include interviewing subject-matter experts to gather information for technical documentation, developing or reviewing text for product user interfaces, attending project meetings to represent the Product Writing team, and managing documentation projects using tools like Jira. The Technical Writer is also responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, consistency, and clarity of knowledge base documentation and tutorial videos, as well as tracking updates to KnowBe4's products and services in change logs and release notes.
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communication, English, or a related field, with a minimum of one year of experience in technical writing or process creation. Experience in UX writing is preferred but not required. Proficiency in using AI technology to enhance efficiency, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to simplify complex technical concepts, and basic knowledge of HTML are also desirable. Self-motivation, strong time management, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
