Technical Product Manager, Data Protection
As a Technical Product Manager for Data Protection at Pure Storage, you will lead the evolution of FlashArray and FlashBlade's backup and recovery ecosystem, ensuring customers experience zero data loss. This role involves bridging complex enterprise workloads with advanced storage snapshots, replication, and cloud-integrated protection strategies. You will collaborate with elite engineering teams and global technology partners to define a technical roadmap that transforms data resilience into a seamless, high-performance competitive advantage.
Your key responsibilities will include owning the end-to-end technical strategy for data protection features, prioritizing requirements that align with modern RPO/RTO demands across hybrid cloud environments. You will influence the product roadmaps of strategic technology partners, such as Veeam, Commvault, and Cohesity, to ensure deep, performant integration with Pure Storage's native protection capabilities. Conducting deep-dive analyses of data protection workload characteristics and competitive sizing will be essential to maintain FlashArray as the industry benchmark for recovery speed and efficiency. Additionally, you will transform complex technical specifications into high-impact sales enablement tools, architectural guides, and customer-facing presentations that simplify the "Pure Storage story" for global enterprises. Collaborating with executive leadership to define the scope of multi-year projects and overseeing the full product lifecycle from inception through strategic product line transitions will also be part of your role.
To be successful in this position, you should possess expert-level understanding of the enterprise backup landscape, including hands-on experience with major applications like Cohesity, Rubrik, and Veeam, and their interaction with cloud-native storage protocols. A proven track record of owning product lifecycles and driving results, with the ability to navigate complex release milestones and product line transitions in an agile environment, is essential. Broad technical depth across storage solutions, networking, and security, with a specific focus on how data protection workloads impact infrastructure sizing and performance, is required. Strong executive presence with the ability to synthesize complex technical data into a clear vision, strategy, and execution plan for both engineering teams and customer stakeholders is crucial.
The annual base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $272,000 USD, determined based on role, level, and location. This position may also be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
