Technical Principal I
The Technical Principal I position at Voyager Technologies, Inc. is a senior-level role within the Engineering department, focusing on materials science and advanced manufacturing of energetics. The successful candidate will provide expert technical leadership to expand market share, develop new products, and oversee the execution of complex development programs. This role is based in Penrose/Pueblo, Colorado, with potential for temporary hybrid arrangements for suitable candidates.
Key responsibilities include leading engineering teams as a Technical Lead on multiple chemical and energetics development and manufacturing programs. The role involves supervising engineering teams, managing technical execution in collaboration with program management, maintaining technology roadmaps with risk and mitigation plans, and serving as the lead technical reviewer on program reviews. Additionally, the candidate will apply materials science and engineering expertise to evaluate and critique propellant formulations, rocket motor designs, and energetics manufacturing plans for performance and risk. Developing new manufacturing tools, methods, and capabilities to expand capacity and increase productivity is also a critical aspect of the role.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials engineering, chemical engineering, or a related discipline, along with 15+ years of industry experience in developing novel manufacturing strategies for advanced solid propulsion, warhead, and energetic material technologies. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 13+ years of experience or a PhD with 10+ years of experience is acceptable. Candidates should have 10+ years of experience as a program lead in energetics research and development, including fast-paced development programs reporting to a program of record or program office, government working groups, and government committees. Demonstrated excellence in mentoring junior employees, technical writing, verbal communication, and presenting complex system capabilities to government sponsors and new customers is essential.
