Voyager Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer VI - Ballistician to join our team in Reno, NV, or Folsom, CA. The Systems Engineer VI - Ballistician will be responsible for developing and maintaining predictive ballistic models for solid rocket motors, including regression rate, chamber pressure, temperature sensitivity, and impulse performance. Key responsibilities include designing internal grain geometries to achieve required thrust profiles, performing performance trade studies using tools such as NASA CEA or in-house MATLAB codes, and analyzing static fire test data to reconcile model predictions with measured motor performance. Collaboration with chemists and formulation engineers on propellant selection and characterization is also essential.

Candidates must possess expertise in propellant chemistry, grain design optimization, advanced ballistics modeling, and experimental validation. A minimum of 10 to 15 years of mechanical engineering experience is required, along with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university. Proficiency in tools such as SPP and/or HERO codes, as well as advanced modeling techniques including combustion modeling and transient response prediction, is highly desirable.

Voyager offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus plan, paid time off, comprehensive health benefits, retirement savings, and a wellness program. The salary range for this position is $161,700 to $199,400 annually in California and $153,615 to $189,430 annually in Nevada.
