Tech Lead Backend | BASE
Wellhub is seeking a Tech Lead Backend Engineer to join our BASE team in Brazil. This remote position offers the opportunity to work from anywhere within the country. The BASE team is responsible for building the core of Wellhub's business model, focusing on creating a scalable platform capable of supporting tens of millions of active users and clients worldwide. Our mission is to ensure high availability while remaining flexible and extensible to support new business models.
In this role, you will participate in the development of critical and challenging services within our ecosystem, aiming to build long-term and sustainable solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving services with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience. You will also build integrations with third-party APIs and tools, support existing systems to enhance functionality and scale, and work in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes productivity.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience and has experience managing and mentoring multiple multidisciplinary teams of software engineers. You should have experience architecting large-scale multi-tier web applications, designing and developing complex modern web applications, and working with cloud-based architectures such as AWS or GCP. Proficiency in developing RESTful web services, applying computer science fundamentals, and working with SQL/NoSQL technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB is essential. Experience with programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Go, or C++ is required, with Golang considered a plus. Strong communication skills are necessary to work with multidisciplinary teams across various countries and cultures.
