As a Staff Software Engineer on the Portfolio Accounting team at Ridgeline, you will play a pivotal role in developing a fast, scalable accounting engine that supports a full range of asset classes and offers global market coverage. In this position, you will be responsible for contributing accounting domain knowledge, design skills, and technical expertise to a cross-functional team. Your day-to-day activities will include participating in the entire software development process—from requirements gathering and design reviews to implementing and shipping production code. Additionally, you will be involved in architecting and evolving a cloud-native tech stack on AWS to ensure scalable and high-performing accounting systems.

The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of designing and delivering new products. A minimum of 3 years in a Staff+ leadership role influencing teams and architecture is required. A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline is essential. Experience in building cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS, and familiarity with high-availability systems, production on-call, and performance monitoring are also important. Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary to thrive in this role.

Ridgeline offers a competitive compensation package, with a typical starting salary range of $165,000 to $200,000. In select locations, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area, the range is $175,000 to $212,500. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise.
