Staff Software Engineer, Performance and Analytics
The Staff Software Engineer, Performance and Analytics role at Ridgeline involves contributing to the development of a next-generation performance and analytics platform within the Reporting department. This team focuses on calculating, reporting, and presenting performance and attribution metrics across investments, utilizing modern OLAP and Columnar technologies to analyze returns, benchmark comparisons, and performance factors.
Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with design, strategy, and engineering teams throughout the software development process, from requirements and design reviews to implementation. The engineer will impact a developing tech stack based on AWS back-end services, participate in creating developer-based automation for scalable, high-quality applications, and mentor product engineers to deliver high-performing, secure enterprise applications.
Required qualifications encompass over 8 years in software engineering with experience in architecting and designing new products and technologies. Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or similar programming languages is essential, along with strong skills in optimizing queries within OLAP/Columnar databases like Clickhouse or Redshift. A solid understanding of data modeling for analytical use cases, experience with large-scale data analytics, and building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud are also necessary. A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline is required.
Compensation for this role varies by location. The typical starting salary range is $174,500 to $205,000, with select locations offering a range of $185,000 to $220,000. Final compensation is determined by factors such as candidate experience and expertise.
