Staff Software Engineer
Harness is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Internal Developer Portal (IDP) team. This team is dedicated to enhancing developer productivity by providing a platform that simplifies the management of services, environments, and infrastructure. As a key member, you will contribute to a product that integrates seamlessly with the broader Harness platform, aiming to unify software delivery and developer tooling into a cohesive experience.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain critical software components of a scalable platform in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include authoring functional specifications and design documents, diagnosing and troubleshooting complex problems in distributed computing environments, and establishing best practices in quality, performance, and architecture. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems.
The ideal candidate possesses 7 to 11 years of experience in developing highly scalable, distributed applications using Java and Golang. Proficiency in designing and developing REST, gRPC, and GraphQL APIs, along with a solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design, is essential. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, SaaS platform development, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is required.
