Staff Software Engineer: Growth Engineering
Modern Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Growth Engineering team, focusing on building and maintaining systems that support scalable client launches and secure member access. This role involves developing reliable, configurable systems that provide clients with control over eligibility, identity, and feature packaging, ensuring members can access the care they need promptly. The position is fully remote within the United States, excluding Hawaii.
In this role, you will lead full-stack development projects, with an emphasis on backend systems. Responsibilities include building and maintaining GraphQL APIs powered by Python services, implementing web and mobile user experiences using React and React Native, and engineering efficient, reusable systems for complex applications. You will also be responsible for maintaining HIPAA and GDPR compliance, writing and executing technical plans for large, ambiguous projects, and mentoring junior engineers.
Candidates should have at least 8 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 2 years in full-stack web development using Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, React Native, and React. Experience in building and maintaining GraphQL and/or REST APIs, scaling relational databases like PostgreSQL, and writing performant queries is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams are required.
The compensation for this role ranges from $137,000 to $203,000 annually, depending on geographic location, plus equity.
