EDB is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Analytics team, focusing on the development and maintenance of core analytics products such as WarehousePG (WHPG) and Postgres Analytics Accelerator (PGAA). This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of our analytics product portfolio within a company dedicated to harnessing the full power of Postgres for transactional, analytical, and AI workloads across any cloud environment.

As a key member of the team, the Staff Software Engineer will design and develop PostgreSQL database features and tools, review and refine code contributions to ensure quality, write and maintain regression tests for bug fixes and new features, troubleshoot and resolve database, network, and software-related issues, and work within CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth integration and deployment.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of database development experience with a solid understanding of database principles. Proficiency in systems programming languages such as C, Rust, C++, or Go is essential, along with strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, operating system internals, and data structures. Experience in Linux-based software development and debugging, optimizing database system performance, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills are also required.

Preferred qualifications include experience with distributed databases and MPP systems like Greenplum, analytical libraries or databases such as Spark, DataFusion, or DuckDB, and distributed query optimizers like Orca. A solid understanding of PostgreSQL internals, familiarity with machine learning libraries and techniques, knowledge of GitHub Actions workflows, and prior contributions to open-source database projects will be advantageous.
