As a Staff Fullstack Software Engineer at Wellhub, you will join the Partner Experience (PEX) team, dedicated to enhancing the experience of our partners within our marketplace. Wellhub is a corporate wellness platform that connects employees worldwide to top-tier partners in fitness, mindfulness, therapy, nutrition, and sleep, all through a single subscription. Headquartered in New York City with a global team across Europe, North America, and South America, our mission is to make every company a wellness company.

In this role, you will lead the design and architecture of complex, multi-stack systems, creating abstractions that address recurring challenges across the engineering organization. Your responsibilities include proactively identifying and executing architectural improvements to prevent technical debt, ensuring long-term maintainability, and anticipating edge cases to enhance system availability and resilience. You will act as a bridge between technical possibilities and product vision, ensuring that we build the right solutions effectively. Additionally, you will provide in-depth feedback on design documents and pull requests, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and mentor senior and lead engineers to accelerate their growth and establish enduring best practices.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science or a related field and possesses extensive experience with backend programming languages, particularly JVM-based ones like Java or Kotlin. Proven experience in architecting and deploying solutions on AWS is essential. You should have deep expertise in Java/Kotlin, ReactJS, and TypeScript, with the ability to discern when to utilize "Vanilla JS" or a Node.js Backend for Frontend (BFF) for specific tasks. A strong foundation in data structures, asynchronous programming, and complexity analysis is required, along with a commitment to quality through testing and balancing user experience needs with system costs and maintainability. Proficiency in English and excellent asynchronous communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A track record of fostering collaboration across teams and sharing knowledge through RFCs, tech talks, or documentation is also important.

Wellhub offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a free Gold+ membership with access to onsite gyms and studios, digital fitness programs, and online wellness resources. Employees can add up to three family members to their plan, ensuring access to wellness for those who matter most. The company provides health, dental, and life insurance, as well as flexible work options, including hybrid and remote arrangements. Employees receive home office reimbursement to set up their workspace and have the flexibility to define schedules that align with their time zones, team needs, and personal routines. Paid time off includes vacations after six months, additional days off per year, and an extra holiday for your birthday. Paid parental leave is offered to all new parents, with extended leave and a ramp-back period for those giving birth. Career growth is supported through access to world-class platforms, interactive sessions, personalized development roadmaps, and internal opportunities. The company fosters a culture of trust, open communication, and learning, where every perspective matters, and employees are empowered to take ownership of their roles and wellbeing.
