Xometry is seeking a Staff Cyber Resilience Engineer to lead the defense against critical cyber threats, including ransomware, destructive wipes, and large-scale data loss. This hands-on technical leadership role involves designing and engineering an Isolated Recovery Environment, setting the standard for Infrastructure as Code across the organization, and ensuring rapid restoration of operations in the event of an AWS environment compromise. The successful candidate will collaborate with a high-caliber engineering team, influence security architecture, and lead comprehensive recovery exercises.

Key responsibilities include designing and building a hardened AWS account with immutable vaults to disrupt potential attack chains, conducting threat modeling to understand cloud-native attack patterns, and validating backup configurations to ensure data recoverability. The role also involves leading the transition to 100% Infrastructure as Code by defining all assets in Terraform, building automated recovery workflows, and maintaining executable recovery playbooks. Additionally, the engineer will develop automated scripts in Python or Go to test recovered data integrity and lead regular recovery drills simulating total loss scenarios.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in complex cloud environments, with at least 3 years in AWS, and strong skills in Terraform for modularizing environments. Hands-on familiarity with the Secure Vault pattern, advanced shell scripting, proficiency in Python or Go, and experience with CI/CD tooling are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience leading technical recovery efforts from actual cyber incidents, familiarity with chaos engineering tools, knowledge of NIST SP 800-34 or similar frameworks, and AWS Security Specialty certification.

The estimated base salary range for this role is $205,000 to $233,000 annually, plus an annual bonus, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location. Xometry offers a competitive benefits package, including a 401(k) match, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off, maternity and bonding leave, and various wellbeing resources.

Xometry fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, emphasizing professional growth and development. Employees have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, influence security architecture, and lead initiatives that significantly impact the organization's resilience against cyber threats.
