Sr. Practice Support Specialist
The Senior Practice Support Specialist at McGuireWoods serves as a strategic litigation technology partner to attorneys and case teams, supporting complex litigation matters across the full eDiscovery lifecycle—from early data strategy and processing through trial presentation. This role is integral to the firm's commitment to delivering seamless litigation technology support.
Key responsibilities include partnering closely with attorneys, paralegals, IT, and vendors to provide comprehensive litigation technology support. The specialist advises case teams on best practices across the full Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) lifecycle, leads complex eDiscovery workflows—including data processing, document review management, and productions—and provides hands-on trial support, such as deposition synchronization, video clips, exhibit management, and in-court presentations. Additionally, the role involves serving as a consultative resource on defensible, cost-effective data management strategies and acting as a subject matter expert in litigation support tools and emerging technologies. Training and mentoring team members, as well as participating in on-call support and providing after-hours assistance as required, are also key aspects of the position.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline, and possesses a legal background with in-depth knowledge of litigation processes. Extensive experience supporting complex litigation matters is essential, along with strong proficiency in RelativityOne, Nuix, LAW PreDiscovery, and trial presentation software, with OnCue preferred. The role requires demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure, exceptional communication and client service skills, and a highly collaborative team player who can also work independently. Willingness to travel and provide on-call support as needed is also necessary.
