Legal Practice Assistant
McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant to join their Los Angeles (Century City) office. This role involves supporting attorneys with a variety of legal and administrative tasks, contributing to the firm's commitment to delivering exceptional legal services since 1834.
Key responsibilities include assembling exhibits and hearing binders, preparing document productions, scheduling depositions, coordinating mailings and deliveries, and managing legal and court filings. The assistant will also handle client inquiries, assist with new business intake processes, maintain organized physical files, prepare and edit legal documents, make travel arrangements, enter attorneys' time into the management system, and manage attorney calendars and communications.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of litigation assistant experience in a legal environment. Strong interpersonal skills, technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, excellent planning and organizational abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. Some knowledge of transactional law is preferred, along with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to changing needs.
