The Sr. Data Engineer, App role is integral to the company's AI-first engineering rebuild, focusing on building data infrastructure that powers product decisions for a vast audience.
In this role, the Sr. Data Engineer will own, build, and operate telemetry and analytics data pipelines that support real-time monitoring, product decisions, experimentation, and user experience analysis. Responsibilities include designing event instrumentation, schemas, quality checks, deduplication, late-event handling, and identity stitching. The engineer will collaborate with data science, product, and SRE teams to translate requirements into pipeline design and integrate AI tooling into development and data quality workflows.
Candidates should have over 5 years of experience building and operating production data pipelines for high-volume consumer products, with hands-on experience in event instrumentation, schema design, and data quality at scale. Proficiency in streaming and batch data pipelines, event-driven architectures, and at least one major cloud data stack (AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent) is required. Experience in consumer products, media, gaming, or ads, familiarity with sessionization and identity stitching at scale, and prior work alongside data science or product analytics teams are advantageous.
The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $178,000 to $223,000, plus equity and benefits. The role is based in San Mateo, CA, with an expected hybrid work model of approximately three days per week in the office.
