This role involves in-depth technical reviews and strategic problem-solving to ensure successful order placements with qualified manufacturing partners. Key responsibilities include managing a portfolio of advanced sourcing cases requiring detailed technical or pricing analysis, investigating root causes preventing supplier acceptance, and developing targeted recovery strategies for stalled projects. The specialist will review technical documentation and manufacturing drawings to validate feasibility, collaborate cross-functionally with design engineers and sales teams to resolve technical or scheduling concerns, and communicate directly with suppliers and customers to clarify requirements and negotiate terms. Maintaining comprehensive case notes and providing guidance to Sourcing Coordinators are also essential duties.
Candidates should possess at least 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply-chain management within a manufacturing or industrial environment. A strong background in managing complex supplier or production challenges is essential. The role requires the ability to manage competing priorities, make independent decisions within defined pricing and policy parameters, and a strong curiosity for manufacturing with a desire to expand technical knowledge.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
