Solutions Engineer, Live Chat
Xometry is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on live chat interactions with prospects and customers. As a trusted advisor, you will leverage your technical expertise and business acumen to propose relevant solutions, working closely with the Sales team to promote our manufacturing processes across various business units and markets in North America. This role is pivotal in anticipating and overcoming technical objections to accelerate sales opportunities.
In this position, you will support the Sales team by conducting discovery meetings to uncover business and technical requirements that align with Xometry's solutions. You will address customer technical questions related to Design for Manufacturability (DFx) and our manufacturing capabilities, consult with prospects to identify appropriate applications of our technology, and define business cases and solutions. Additionally, you will demonstrate Xometry's capabilities, including our software quoting platform, and contribute to marketing efforts by serving as an industry thought leader at events and webinars.
The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, with 3 to 5+ years of experience in an engineering or technical role. You should possess a strong understanding of various manufacturing processes across multiple industries, demonstrated expertise in areas such as manufacturing, new product development, materials, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and injection molding. Proficiency with CAD software, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple long-term projects with minimal oversight are essential. A willingness to travel up to 25% is also required.
