Software Engineer - SDK
Harness is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Feature Management and Experimentation team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and evolving our feature flagging SDKs, which are integral to our dynamic configuration and experimentation platform. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on foundational SDKs that enhance the developer experience across multiple languages and platforms.
As a Software Engineer, you will lead the development of Harness FME’s SDKs, such as the Go SDK, and contribute to additional SDKs supported by Harness FME across various languages. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, profiling, and improving the performance and load handling of these SDKs. Collaborating closely with support teams, you will address customer needs and translate them into future product improvements, all within a fast-paced environment that supports a highly available, distributed service.
The ideal candidate will have experience building high-performance services, libraries, or applications, with at least 5 years of software development experience. Proficiency in Golang and experience in at least one major language used for backend development and tooling, such as Ruby, Python, are required. A strong understanding of concurrency and threading across different virtual machines, hands-on experience with Linux-based systems, and a passion for clean, elegant code that is simple to test and maintain are essential. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a commitment to continuous improvement and personal growth are also important.
