Senior Staff SDE I (Czech Republic)

The Senior Staff Software Development Engineer I position at EDB focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining the EDB Postgres Distributed (PGD) Operator, a multi-master distributed PostgreSQL solution. This role is integral to EDB's mission of providing high availability, geographic distribution, and active-active replication for enterprise workloads. The position is fully remote for candidates based in the Czech Republic.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and documenting Kubernetes operators to manage PGD clusters across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. The engineer will analyze business requirements, translate them into executable tasks, provide production support to EDB's PGD customers on Kubernetes, and participate in code reviews while collaborating with a globally distributed team.

Candidates should have over five years of experience in software engineering, with strong proficiency in developing Kubernetes Operators using the Go language and Kubernetes API programming. Experience with PostgreSQL internals, understanding of distributed systems concepts, familiarity with multi-version codebases, CI/CD practices, and strong debugging skills are essential.

Preferred qualifications include prior contributions to CloudNativePG or similar open-source projects, advanced experience with Kubernetes administration, expertise in PostgreSQL administration, and experience with various container orchestration platforms.
