Senior Solutions Engineer, Aerospace & Defense
Xometry is seeking an experienced and charismatic engineer for a critical customer-facing Senior Solutions Engineer role. This position supports the Sales team by providing insights and feedback from the aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing community. The role is a unique blend of customer engagement, technical expertise, and project management, reporting to the Pre-Sales Engineering community, which is jointly led by Sales and Operations.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Account Executives to drive account growth and retention, organizing and executing major projects, and proactively identifying and addressing potential manufacturing challenges, including design for manufacturability. The role also involves assisting Pre-Sales Engineering with knowledge gathering and compiling competitive quotes, as well as providing project management and oversight on complex opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing roles, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, is essential. Experience with CNC machining is particularly valuable, while familiarity with composites, plastics, harnesses, and sheet metal fabrication is a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are required, along with proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce and tools like Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $101,000 to $150,000 annually, plus commission, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
