Senior Software Engineer - Test
Harness is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead Engineering Productivity initiatives and drive quality automation strategies. This role involves designing sophisticated test frameworks and quality solutions to ensure exceptional reliability for products used by over 38 million developers globally. As a senior member of the engineering team, the candidate will provide technical leadership and collaborate with top-tier engineers across India and the US.
Key responsibilities include designing and leading the development of enterprise-grade test automation frameworks and tools that support the CI/CD pipeline. The role also involves providing technical leadership in designing comprehensive test strategies addressing functional requirements, performance benchmarks, and scalability challenges. Additionally, the candidate will mentor junior engineers, establish quality engineering best practices, and collaborate with product leadership to establish quality gates and metrics that drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate should have 4-6 years of software engineering experience with a significant focus on quality automation and tooling. Expert-level programming skills in at least one major language (Java, Python, or JavaScript) with strong knowledge of others are required. Experience in architecting and implementing test automation frameworks at scale, deep understanding of CI/CD systems, and extensive experience with container orchestration using Docker/Kubernetes in test/production environments are also essential. Proven expertise with one or more cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) and infrastructure-as-code practices is preferred.
