Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning (EST or EMEA)
AssemblyAI is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to enhance our AI research-to-production pipeline. This role involves developing infrastructure that enables rapid deployment and testing of new models, ensuring our production inference systems are efficient, scalable, and reliable. The position requires close collaboration with research and engineering teams to bridge the gap between innovation and production reliability.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing tools for swift model deployment and evaluation, building and maintaining high-performance inference pipelines, and proactively identifying and resolving infrastructure bottlenecks. The role also involves developing user-facing APIs, implementing observability solutions to monitor system health, and leading the resolution of complex production issues across distributed systems.
Candidates should have strong backend engineering experience with Python, experience in building and operating distributed, containerized applications (preferably on AWS), and proficiency in implementing observability solutions for production systems. The ability to design resilient, scalable architectures and a track record of independently delivering complex technical projects are essential. Familiarity with MLOps practices, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and experience in fast-paced environments are advantageous.
