Senior Software Engineer (Live)

Topstep is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance the systems that support our trader experience. This role involves designing and building cloud-native applications using TypeScript and React, focusing on reliability and scalability. The engineer will collaborate with product teams to define and evolve the platform, ensuring it meets the needs of both new and experienced traders.

Key responsibilities include developing cloud-native applications with an emphasis on reliability and operational simplicity, embedding automated testing and observability into every stage of feature delivery, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain platform stability, and collaborating with product engineering teams to implement event-driven best practices.

Candidates should have over 5 years of experience building and operating production-grade systems with user-facing APIs, a solid full-stack foundation with expertise in backend API design (TypeScript, GraphQL, REST) and modern frontend development (React, Next.js, TypeScript), deep knowledge in designing scalable, distributed systems including event-driven architectures, message queues, and eventual consistency, strong database fundamentals with experience in PostgreSQL or SQL Server, and excellent communication skills.

The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $1,570,000 to $1,930,000 annually, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus. Additional benefits encompass health, dental, and vision insurance, seven company-paid holidays, generous family leave, and a food and groceries budget.
