As a Senior Data Engineer at Topstep, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing foundational systems that drive analytics, automation, and insights across the organization. Collaborating closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams, you will lead the development of robust data pipelines and optimize workflows to enhance data accessibility and usability.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines from diverse sources such as APIs, AWS native databases, and third-party systems, with a strong emphasis on data quality, reliability, and performance. You will leverage your expertise with dbt and Snowflake to structure and transform data, implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting processes to ensure pipeline reliability, and establish best-in-class processes for CI/CD, reproducible analytics, and rigorous code review, testing, and documentation standards.

The ideal candidate will have over six years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language like Python. Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Snowflake, is essential, along with hands-on experience in building and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines, monitoring data quality, and debugging data workflows. Advanced-level proficiency with dbt and experience with data orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow are also required.
