Senior Software Engineer, Generalist
Muon Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Software Team. This role is ideal for a versatile problem-solver with exceptional system design and coding abilities, capable of devising straightforward solutions to intricate challenges. The successful candidate will demonstrate a rapid grasp of new technologies and systems, with a keen understanding of automation and fault management in complex environments. Prior experience in areas such as robotics, autonomy, embedded software, mobile development, simulation, or distributed systems is highly valued.
In this position, the engineer will lead and implement complex, cross-team projects spanning multiple weeks. Responsibilities include estimating future work, measuring metrics closely aligned with company objectives, and managing and updating goals within their area of responsibility. The role also entails acting as the company's expert in their domain, mentoring junior engineers, upholding company standards for code, testing, design, and review, and participating in the evaluation and selection of technologies for the software foundation.
Candidates must possess a proven ability to quickly learn new programming languages and development environments. A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience as a software engineer in a team setting. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Rust, or Python is essential.
The salary range for this role is $184,000 to $208,000, complemented by a competitive equity grant and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
