Staff Software Engineer, Simulation Infrastructure
Muon Space is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Simulation team. This role involves shaping the architectural direction of our simulation tools and integrating simulation models into comprehensive products. The position is based in San Jose, CA, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Key responsibilities include leading the in-house simulation product team, collaborating with engineering management to design and deliver simulation services, aligning technical roadmaps with product requirements, and integrating feedback from client teams to drive iterative improvements. The role also involves working closely with the Software Test team to integrate simulation tools into automated testing campaigns and mentoring Simulation and Test team engineers.
Required qualifications include a B.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field, over 10 years of experience as a software engineer in a team environment, strong programming experience in both a high-level scripting language and a compiled systems language, and excellent communication and presentation skills. Preferred qualifications encompass experience with numerical simulation techniques, fluency in statistical analysis, knowledge of the Julia language, familiarity with Linux systems administration and Docker containers, and experience with Software-in-the-Loop simulation.
The salary range for this role is $210,000 - $234,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
