Senior Product Quality Engineer
The Senior Product Quality Engineer at LVT plays a pivotal role throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and design to production, deployment, and end-of-life. This position involves close collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and Quality teams to define product quality criteria and validation methods, ensuring exceptional performance and reliability. The ideal candidate is a proactive technical leader capable of influencing cross-functional stakeholders through data-driven insights, clear communication, and decisive action.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Product Management, Design, and Manufacturing teams to balance cost, development, quality, and user experience. The engineer will drive design decisions using technical expertise, test and field data, and risk analysis. Leading development builds to ensure design, manufacturing processes, equipment, and suppliers are ready for mass production is also a critical aspect of the role. Additionally, the position involves defining and owning product quality criteria, validation methods, and test standards from concept through end-of-life, as well as developing and executing comprehensive test plans correlated to real-world use cases.
Required qualifications include a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering with over 5 years of experience in the development and manufacture of electronic devices. Experience with new product introduction processes, electro-mechanical assembly, manufacturing processes, fixture design, mechanical modeling, and quality statistics is essential. The role also requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally to partner and test locations, hands-on experience with test equipment and general shop tools, and knowledge of quality methods such as DOE, DFX, DFMEA, and DMAIC. Familiarity with common specifications like MIL, UL, FCC, CE, and IP is also necessary.
