Senior Pattern Maker
ALO is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Pattern Maker to join our team in Commerce, California. This role is integral to our product development process, ensuring that design concepts are accurately translated into production-ready patterns that uphold our standards of fit, quality, and consistency. The Senior Pattern Maker will collaborate closely with designers, technical designers, and sample makers to support the journey from initial concept through to final production.
Key responsibilities include creating, modifying, and grading patterns based on design sketches, specifications, and fit requirements. The role involves developing first patterns, prototypes, and production patterns across various garment categories. The Senior Pattern Maker will conduct and participate in fit sessions, making necessary pattern corrections based on feedback, and ensure that all patterns are production-ready, meeting quality, cost, and timeline standards. Additionally, the position requires maintaining accurate pattern documentation and collaborating with sample makers and factories to resolve any fit or construction issues.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Pattern Maker in the apparel industry, with a strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and textiles. Proficiency in patternmaking software (CAD) and/or manual patternmaking is essential, along with the ability to interpret design sketches and technical specifications. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strong communication and collaboration abilities are required. A degree or certification in Fashion Design, Patternmaking, or a related field is preferred. Experience with both woven and knit garments, knowledge of grading rules and production processes, and experience working with overseas factories or production teams are advantageous.
The base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 per year, representing the current range for this exempt position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including location, experience, and performance.
