Senior Mobile Backend Engineer
As a Senior Mobile Backend Engineer at LVT, you will be instrumental in developing the robust services and APIs that power our mobile applications. This role involves designing and implementing scalable, low-latency backend solutions that enable seamless interaction between customers and the LVT Hardware Platform via mobile devices. You will address mobile-specific challenges such as offline data synchronization, real-time alerts, variable network conditions, and efficient payload delivery, all while fostering a culture of innovation. Your software will be deployed to the cloud with a high degree of reliability and security, positioning you as a key influencer in our engineering culture and a thought leader among your peers.
Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud software and API design. You will stay updated with advancements in mobile optimization, push notification delivery, and real-time data synchronization, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies for an improved mobile experience. Additionally, you will lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of mobile-facing backend services, defining the technical direction, methodologies, best practices, and robust system design within your team. Collaborating closely with React Native and Expo engineers, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and DevOps, you will contribute to the planning, execution, and delivery of mobile software projects, ensuring seamless client-server integration and fostering effective communication channels.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building backend systems tailored to support high-traffic applications. Proficiency in backend technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js/NestJS, AWS, GraphQL, and REST is essential, along with experience in building APIs and services optimized for mobile clients developed with React Native and Expo. Familiarity with mobile-critical integrations, including push notifications (APNs/FCM), WebSockets, and secure authentication flows, is also required. A demonstrated ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions, as well as experience in developing and executing strategic architectural plans that meet complex business and mobile performance needs, will be highly valued. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is expected.
