Senior Machine Learning Engineer
Xometry is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to enhance its AI capabilities within a dynamic and skilled team. As a key player in Xometry's platform, this role focuses on developing machine learning models that improve cost prediction, pricing, and sourcing options for customers and suppliers.
The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will explore new machine learning opportunities, conduct research and proof-of-concepts, and integrate AI solutions into Xometry's platform. Responsibilities include evaluating emerging technologies, identifying areas for improvement, developing new features, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of the platform. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and define technical solutions is essential. Monitoring model performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise are also key aspects of the role.
Candidates should have experience with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques such as transformers, self-supervised pre-training, generative modeling, and large language models. Proficiency in large-scale data processing and hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow are required. A strong foundation in software engineering, including design patterns, refactoring, object-oriented programming, and testing, is essential. Experience with cloud-native technologies, containers, container orchestration, and distributed systems is also necessary. Applicants must have at least 5 years of experience in engineering teams that build large-scale, machine learning-driven user-facing products, and 3 years of experience leading cross-team engineering efforts. Strong project management skills are important. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $123,000 to $159,000 annually, plus an annual bonus, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
