Life360 is seeking a Senior II Hardware Engineer (EE) to join our Devices team, which focuses on developing connected hardware experiences that link families to their loved ones and belongings. This role involves collaborating with electrical, RF, and mechanical engineers to tackle complex consumer electronics challenges, such as integrating multiple radios, sensors, and power systems into compact devices like keychain attachments or pet collars.

The primary responsibilities include designing and building complex, multi-radio electronic products by contributing to high-density electrical designs for next-generation GPS tracking devices that incorporate BLE, WiFi, cellular, and GNSS radios on a single board. The engineer will create schematics, drive PCB designs, review component selections, and address detailed specifications and vendor technical questions. Additionally, they will perform DFMEA, PFMEA, stress analysis, and tolerance analysis to ensure design robustness, and support board bring-up, debugging, and iterative refinement from early prototypes through production-ready designs.

Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with hands-on design for consumer electronics products shipped at scale. Demonstrated experience with high-density, multi-radio electrical design—integrating combinations of BLE, WiFi, cellular, and/or GNSS in constrained form factors—is essential. Proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout, strong fundamentals in electrical engineering and physics, and experience designing for small size and high integration density are also required. Additionally, experience with schematic validation, DFMEA/PFMEA, tolerance analysis, stress analysis, bench testing, laboratory testing, and alpha/beta test deployments is necessary. An interest in leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate design, analysis, and documentation workflows, using tools like Claude Code, is preferred. Fluency in using electrical engineering laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, data loggers, and soldering tools, along with strong written and verbal communication skills and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, are also required.

The US-based salary range for this position is $109,500 to $199,500. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity. Life360 offers a remote-first work environment, flexible PTO, company-wide days off throughout the year, and learning and development programs. Employees also receive free Life360 Platinum Membership for their preferred circle and free Tile products.

Life360 fosters a mission-driven culture guided by shared values, including being a good person, being direct with respect, prioritizing members before metrics, and maintaining high intensity and high impact. The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, believing that different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative work environment that delivers better results. Life360 strives to create a workplace where everyone feels empowered to bring their authentic best selves to work.
