Senior/Director – Tax Associate
Clifford Chance, a leading international law firm with over 30 offices worldwide, is seeking a Senior/Director – Tax Associate to join their esteemed Tax group in London. The firm is renowned for its comprehensive expertise in corporate tax, finance tax, real estate tax, funds tax, indirect tax, and tax litigation, advising some of the world's largest and most complex businesses. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on high-profile transactions and disputes that often make headlines.
As a Senior Associate/Director, you will be involved in a diverse range of tax work, including advising on international and domestic tax matters related to M&A and corporate structuring, bank and bond financing, structured debt, leasing, real estate investment and development, funds, and other forms of non-bank investment. You will provide bespoke tax advice on complex legal issues and offer tax policy guidance to industry bodies and governments. The role entails working closely with a broad spectrum of clients and collaborating with the firm's other teams and practice areas, both in London and globally.
The ideal candidate will possess strong relevant tax experience as a lawyer with an established UK tax practice, likely gained at a firm in the City of London. While experience covering the full range of taxes and transactions is not expected, a solid foundation in tax law is essential. Candidates should demonstrate outstanding academic credentials, excellent legal skills, and a strong reputation among existing clients for providing commercial solutions and effective transactional and management skills. Strong communication and analytical abilities, along with a high level of commercial awareness, are crucial.
Clifford Chance offers a competitive compensation package, with the salary range for this role being £150,000 to £200,000 per annum. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
