The UK Compliance Executive at Clifford Chance plays a pivotal role within the firm's central Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams, which are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance. This position reports directly to the Head of Regional Compliance (HRC) and collaborates closely with both regional and international risk and compliance teams, as well as other business professionals across the UK offices. The role also involves working in conjunction with the UK Data Privacy Manager to ensure comprehensive compliance oversight.

Key responsibilities include assisting the HRC in implementing preventive monitoring mechanisms and controls tailored to the UK's compliance objectives. The Compliance Executive is tasked with raising awareness of Clifford Chance's global policies and procedures, identifying and analyzing instances of non-compliance, and supporting the assessment of regulatory and compliance risks specific to the UK. Additionally, the role involves monitoring evolving compliance laws and regulations, participating in horizon scanning, reviewing periodic compliance reports, and promoting a strong compliance culture within the firm.

Candidates should possess demonstrable experience in compliance, ideally gained within a leading international law practice. Essential skills include excellent attention to detail, the ability to maintain accurate records, and critical thinking capabilities. The role requires both independent work and teamwork, with a capacity to manage substantial workloads and prioritize competing demands. Strong communication skills are vital for building and maintaining relationships across the firm. Familiarity with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and other regulations applicable to law firms, as well as an understanding of anti-bribery and insider trading regulations, will be considered advantageous.

Clifford Chance offers a balanced hybrid working approach, supporting employees to work both remotely and in the office, with an expectation of spending at least 50% of time in the office, subject to business needs. The firm provides a broad range of benefits designed to support various aspects of personal and professional life, including financial, wellbeing, lifestyle, and family-friendly benefits. Employees are encouraged to engage in continuous learning and development opportunities, fostering both personal growth and career advancement within a supportive and inclusive work environment.
