Senior DevOps Engineer
Gong is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its rapidly expanding U.S. R&D team in New York City. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on security-related aspects. The position requires in-person collaboration three days a week in the NYC office.
Key responsibilities include deploying and continuously improving secure and reliable cloud environments, primarily on AWS. The engineer will contribute to the design and implementation of best security practices and tooling for CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and developer experience enhancements. Automation and streamlining of operations and processes are also central to the role, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Security, Product, and others, is essential to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Platform Engineering roles, with a proven track record of building and operating scalable cloud environments, preferably on AWS. A deep understanding of infrastructure-as-code and GitOps methodologies, such as Crossplane, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi, is required. Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, CircleCI) and running Kubernetes and container orchestration in production is essential. A solid understanding of computer networking fundamentals, REST architecture, and cloud security concepts is also necessary. Experience with AWS security services, knowledge of security principles and compliance frameworks, and familiarity with vulnerability scanning and management tools are highly desirable. Additionally, experience implementing security automation in CI/CD pipelines and a background in container and Kubernetes security best practices are beneficial.
