Engineering Manager

Gong is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager to lead and develop our Communications Capture team in our Dublin R&D hub. This newly established team is responsible for Gong's core data pipeline, which ingests and captures customer interactions from external communication systems such as emails, calendars, phone/web conferencing calls, and texts. These online pipelines serve thousands of customers and form the foundation for a wide range of Gong's products, significantly impacting our user base and enhancing their experience.

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead and expand a growing team of backend and frontend engineers. You will manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, you will shape the team's roadmap, balancing product goals with engineering priorities. Your role will involve driving continuous improvement and optimization of the team's products and infrastructure, as well as designing and architecting long-term technical solutions that deliver significant impact on both our platform and customers.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience leading and developing growing teams, along with proven industry experience as a senior software engineer. A strong technical background focusing on large-scale, cloud-based web applications is essential. Proficiency in Java and related frameworks is advantageous, as is experience with user-facing products. A degree in computer science or a similar field is preferred. Additionally, proven experience in project management and team leadership, coupled with a passion for motivating, mentoring, and cultivating people, is highly valued.
