Senior Data Scientist, Costing
Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our sourcing team. This role focuses on developing predictive models to enhance our digital marketplace, which connects innovative ideas with manufacturers worldwide. The successful candidate will contribute to optimizing our platform by leveraging data science and machine learning techniques.
Key responsibilities include developing effective predictive models using data science and machine learning principles, preparing and processing data utilizing cloud resources such as Amazon Web Services, and extracting data from databases like Snowflake. The role also involves using data analysis and visualization tools, including SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker, to inform business strategy. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to iterate solutions in a fast-paced environment and solve complex, uncharted problems.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering, with an M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field being highly desirable. A minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques is required. Proficiency in Python, particularly with libraries such as pandas, numpy, SciPy, and scikit-learn, is essential. A strong foundation in linear algebra and statistics, familiarity with scientific software principles like version control and reproducibility, and experience in the manufacturing industry are also desired. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders due to ITAR requirements.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $182,000 annually, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
