Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our sourcing team. In this role, you will leverage machine learning tools and techniques to develop, optimize, and evaluate predictive models that forecast various business outcomes. Your expertise in probability and statistics will be essential in making defensible statistical inferences from data.

As a Senior Data Scientist, your primary responsibilities will include developing effective predictive models using data science and machine learning principles. You will write software to prepare, clean, and sample data for model development, utilize cloud resources such as Amazon Web Services for data processing, and query and extract data from databases like Snowflake. Additionally, you will employ data analysis and visualization tools, including SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker, to inform business strategy. The role requires a commitment to iterating solutions within a fast-paced environment and solving challenging, uncharted problems.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering, with an M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field being highly desirable. A minimum of five years of experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques is required. Proficiency in Python, particularly with libraries such as pandas, numpy, SciPy, and scikit-learn, is essential. A strong foundation in linear algebra and statistics, familiarity with scientific software principles like versioning systems and reproducibility, and experience in the manufacturing industry are also desired. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders due to ITAR requirements.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $182,000 annually, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
